I was advised by somebody at Amazon that if you just want to stay at a park for a week and then transfer to another park at the beginning of the camperforce season just lie to the park owner and say you plan to stay the whole season. This doesn't seem very honest.
Even though it looks like a gravel parking lot it has a 100 seat Clubhouse with everything you'd want. Clean showers and a large screen TV nice laundry with more than one washer and dryer. Owner's family is friendly and knows Campbellsville well. Good place to make day trips from if you say plan to stay in Kentucky three to seven days.
Just park anywhere and you will see someone next day. Country nice,. Fair and all hookups
Called on friday asking to stay for a week as part of the Amazon camperforce program and spoke to a younger woman who said come on because they had 40 plus spaces open. It wasn't a reservation because Heartland does not take reservations. When I arrived it was an older man that I spoke with who turned me away stating, "I'd let you stay for the whole season (camperforce season) but I'm not interested in letting you stay for a week". Basically he was worried about having a spot tied up for a week which would turn away somebody else who would stay the whole season. This was on Saturday. On Tuesday I went back to Heartland and talked to the woman I originally spoke with over the phone about the situation. I believe that day there was something like 34 spaces remaining, so 6 out of the 40 filled from Saturday to Tuesday.
Great staff, and customer service.
Convenient distance from Amazon as well as the town of campbellsville owners are all family and very nice, they treat all campers like we are part of their family while we are here
My truck is new and our 32 foot 5th wheel was extremely clean. It was my wife, 11 month old daughter and I. No pets. Being turned away after calling the day before to confirm availability was a huge hassle after driving most of the day. We were able to find a spot over at Green River State Park despite the park being listed as full a few weeks prior (I guess they had cancelations as I checked a few weeks prior and they were full).
My understanding is that Amazon pays the campgrounds $17 a day when the camperforce associates stay there so I guess he wasn't interested in $119 minus his cost of electricity and water. Perhaps he didn't want a baby in the park. Fair enough. Regardless, it's a huge inconvenience to be turned away from a park that has 40 free spaces when you called the day before and did not feel the need to make a backup plan.
I later found out the older man owns the park (I was told it used to be farmland and he built the park when Amazon set up shop across the street) and was it was his granddaughter who I spoke with over the phone and in person on Tuesday. She is cool, but the older man should not be in a position where he has to deal with customers. He clearly has no interest.
